With a huge win while playing bingo, a catering team leader from Wigan turned into a dancing queen. Alice Mulvey from Ince and her husband Frank, 61 practically danced on the driveway once she announced her winnings of 41150 pounds on returning home.
This 57 year old lucky woman struck gold with a 2 pound ticket for National Bingo game. She had completed full house with only 44 numbers, the lowest number of numbers used to achieve bingo in the 470 clubs that evening.
Mrs. Mulvey works as a catering team leader at the Asda distribution center. She had shared her national prize of 90,000 pounds with a player in Rhyl, who had also completed the game of bingo in 44 numbers. In addition to this, she had also won herself the house prize.
Mrs. Mulvey is a regular player of bingo. She has three children, three grandchildren and a fourth due in February. She has been playing bingo twice a week for about five years, where she goes to play bingo on her own. She was sitting with other regular players when her numbers came in.
Ironically, she only needed a single number 85 after the calling of 29 numbers; she had to wait for a further 15 numbers for this last number to be called and with luck on her side, she had won the national prize.
