Gala Bingo in talks about possible site revamp
It appears that Gala Bingo is currently in talks with a leading software company regarding the possible move of the online bingo operation to a new platform. Gala Bingo’s parent company, Gala Coral, is believed to be in talks with leading software group Orbis about a number of options for the online operation.
Currently the Gala Bingo site operates under a unique software package created for Gala Bingo and exclusive to the group. However, as the online bingo sector continues to grow and competition increases it appears that the cost of maintaining this unique software package may be larger than the potential benefits of moving to a “white label” platform. While no decision has been made as yet the other operations in the Gala Coral portfolio of businesses are suffering from the general economic downturn in the UK and cost savings need to be made.
The Gala Bingo division is one of the few jewels in the crown which continues to grow even in these most trying of economic climates. The main company also operates a number of bingo halls and casinos which are also feeling the pinch from the slowing economy.
Online bingo continues to confound its critics with turnover expected to increase as an industry to over £1 billion over the next couple of years with Gala Bingo sure to be up there with the leaders!
