According to their research, Grand Rapids has more bingo games and halls on comparison with other metropolitan areas of the United States. In addition to this, it also has more bingo players on a per capita basis than found anywhere else in the country. Grand Rapids also has a growing population of players who play bingo online.
US census states that Grand Rapids has a population of about 774,084, with a combined statistical area population amounting to 1,320,487. Grand Rapids is located in the western part of Michigan, and has an ethnically diverse population that included Roman Catholics. This point has been attributed to the popularity of bingo in the city.
This is because it is known that Catholic churches have always been using bingo as a fundraising device. In fact, it can be said that the church has popularized bingo much more than any other entity not only amongst Catholics, but also in the general population.
