The glamour Jordan who was involved in the advertising campaign of Foxy Bingo, an online bingo operator, was dropped by Foxy Bingo for her huge pay demands. The real name of Jordan is Katie Price, and dropping her from Foxy Bingo ads has created a renewed focus on the ‘Foxy’ character which is a man with a fox’s head.
This character will now appear by itself on both off and online promotional material for Foxy Bingo. Cashcade, the Foxy parent company announced last year that it was going to divert its budget from direct marketing into television advertising.
This was in response to the probable increase in competition from online betting companies who are able to advertise on TV with the introduction of the Gambling Act 2005 on September 1 last year.
So far it has not been disclosed if the decision to drop Jordan will have any affect on these plans. The TV ad which was fronted by the model, and which was expected to enter production last September will no longer take place because of failed negotiations over her fees.
Cashcade reveals that celebrities will be a part of Foxy Bingo’s marketing mix of radio and magazine interviews. The astrologer Russell Grant was signed up last September as the face of a new game, Russell’s Lucky Stars.
In addition to this, Grant also reads a monthly horoscope that is linked to a ‘lucky number’ while providing regular interviews on Foxy Bingo’s online radio station.
