With the introduction of the UK Gambling Act on September 1st, the small island of Malta has found some good news for itself. This is because with this news, so far 27 international gaming companies have already decided to relocate its operations to this island.

Companies like Playboy Casino and Virgin Games have big plans of providing online poker and its casino services from the island Malta within a week’s time. So far, there are 84 iGaming firms found and working from Malta. However a letter of intent has been distributed to 76 other companies while 36 more companies are waiting to see the outcome of their license applications.

The Chief Executive of Lotteries Gaming Authority, Mario Galea in fact claims that with this move from the UK government, Malta has now become the natural hub of online gaming. With the introduction of the UK gambling Act of September 1st, 2005, many gaming companies have practically flocked to Malta.

With this law, it is only the gambling companies in EEA and other approved ‘white list’ areas like Alderney that are permitted to promote their services on UK TV, radio and other media forms.
