Yesterday, two online gaming giants announced their decision to join up in order to create a series of online bingo networks for the European markets. Parlay Entertainment Inc. and Microgame made the announcement yesterday after weeks of meetings and deliberation.
It is thought that each network will be powered by an Internet platform that combines Parlay's Internet bingo, casino and other game products with Microgame's existing game management and administration infrastructure, fusing the two strengths of the corporations together. Microgame currently offers sports and poker wagering into the tightly regulated Italian marketplace, meaning that the company also has experience in the field of actually creating gaming software as well. It is hoped that this merger will lead to a huge increase in the popularity and regularity of bingo playing across the continent.
Scott White, Chief Executive Officer of Parlay Entertainment, said yesterday that "We are delighted to partner with Microgame to offer our leading edge games in Italy, which will be a new regulated marketplace for Parlay and for bingo. We view the opportunity with Microgame, making use of their existing relationships, infrastructure and large customer base in Italy, as an excellent way to enter this new market for bingo."
The future looks bright for these two pioneering companies as they step into the European online gaming market.
