Playtech Continues To Perform

Written by: Nikola Zugic on 19/07/2008 00:00

Playtech, the leading online gaming network, has continued t post strong financial growths even in a period when online gaming sites typically perform badly. The time of year coupled with the Euro 2008 football tournament meant that outsiders were not expecting Playtech to perform as well as they had been doing or as well as they did.

Casino revenues for the 2nd Quarter of 2008 rose a very impressive 77% year on year and 13% against the previous quarter. Europe is the company's largest market, and was buoyed significantly by the continued success that online bingo is experiencing. The Asia Pacific region also contributed to the strong figures, however, and Playtech expects this market to become one of their major money makers in the coming months.

The company also raised more than £100 million during the quarter, a figure which they have set aside for acquisition in order to continue their impressive growth within the online gaming market. Shares for Playtech currently stand at around 514 pence (correct at time of writing) following a further increase spurred by the release of their financial figures.
