Attention all bingo players, lovers, and insiders out there. There’s a new bingo operator in town. Have you heard of the latest Wisbech Bingo Operator? Yes, they are the newest bingo operator to join the bingo industry. They have taken over the Empire Bingo Club in Wisbech. Let’s find out more about this good news.
For quite some time, the people of Wisbech thought they would be losing another bingo club, the Empire Bingo Club. As you recall, a lot of bingo clubs have been closing for the past couple of months because of the economic weather and the recent increase in bingo duties. Thanks to Keith Waterman, a bingo entrepreneur, he had taken over the bingo club and has signed a new lease agreement.
Keith Waterman has been a bingo caller and checker for more than forty years. He started out in the year 1974. After being a caller and checker, he then started his own bingo club. He ran the family business of bingo where he managed the Winners Bingo Clubs at both bury St. Edmunds and Thetford. While managing the two clubs however, he was one of the pioneers of the smoking ban in the UK. He was actually the first operator who banned smoking in the bingo halls after the Bury St. Edmunds was renovated. While it is certainly for the good of the bingo players and of course to maintain the pleasant bingo halls, the smoking ban has affected a lot of bingo halls and actually contributed to some bingo closures. Perhaps you still can’t stop those bingo players who want to be able to smoke when they play their favorite game of bingo.
Now, Keith Waterman has taken over the Empire in Wisbech after Norman Jacobs, the original owner of the bingo hall has announced retirement. He however will still be the landlord to the bingo club.
