Can bingo keep your mind sharp?

Online bingo good for your health? When you think of the typical bingo player what image pops in to your mind? I’ll bet you don’t think of Albert Einstein sitting down with his bingo dauber or a person of fantastic cranial ability sitting down with their finger frantically placed on their mouse waiting for their numbers to come in!  Unfortunately the image that would pop in to most peoples mind would be the old age pensioner sitting in a dingy bingo hall as they busy them selves with a handful of bingo cards.

Thankfully we all know that this stereotype is now a distant memory as people from all walks of life enjoy the land based bingo game, and more recently the popular online bingo game.  Recent studies have proven that online bingo can have a positive effect on brain development and can improve mental capacity in players of all ages.  This is fantastic news as players can feel happy in the fact that they are enjoying their bingo, chatting with friends and giving their brain the workout it needs all in the comfort of their own home.  Some researchers have even found correlations with people who enjoy solving crosswords; they have found that both activities have similar effects on the brain.

Online Bingo Can Improve Brain PowerThe tests were conducted over a prolonged period of time to give an unbiased and accurate result.  The tests showed that online bingo players have an improved memory and were able to retain more brain functions compared to people who do not play the game.  The studies also proved that bingo players often had more focus on tasks and were able to complete tasks easier than non bingo playing participants.  The studies were largely based on the older generation, but it is widely believed that the younger generation can still benefit from the stimulation provided by online bingo.

The best way to keep the brain healthy and functioning at the optimum level is to keep it active, one of the ways online bingo keeps the brain active is the multiple processes required to play the game.  When playing bingo you have to perform many different tasks simultaneously, these tasks include watching your cards, chatting and concentrating on your opponents.  The participants have to be alert the whole time to ensure they do not miss the opportunity of a bingo.  This is the main reason that online bingo helps keep the mind sharp and alert.

The detailed research used a research base of 112 people with a broad age range of 18 to 82.  The participants were broken in to two groups, one half played bingo and the other half remained passive.  The results were conclusive and showed that the bingo participants were more accurate in the tests compared to the control group.

When the researchers compared the age groups it was discovered that the divide was minimal, in some cases the old out smarted the young.  The research did show that younger players were almost always faster but nit always as accurate.  Although their were differences in age groups the research was conclusive in that online bingo is good for the mind.   There are other ways to keep the mind sharp, but they probably are not as fun as playing online bingo, so now you can enjoy your bingo and feel smug in the knowledge that online bingo is giving your mind the workout it needs, all in the comfort of your own home!
